When we think about places to discover, have fun, enjoy and relax; the last thing that comes to our mind is a bookstore, correct? the majority of people think of a bookstore as a room filled with books and nerds around…. Well, the reality is that nowadays, some bookstores have created their own personality and have evolved to offer more that just plain books. Books & Books in Coral Gables, Florida has been a byword for cultural exchanges. It is considered one of the 19 beautiful book stores in the USA. The trademark in my opinion is the dark wooden shelves which conveys an European Style.
Books & Books is not only the traditional bookstore where you can go and buy books, but also it’s a place that fosters recreational activities such as tango lessons, monthly cultural exhibitions, and books launching events among others.
The bookstore building has a Mediterranean Style, and it’s registered as a historic place in coral Gables. It also has a great cafeteria with an open area to enjoy some fresh air,tea, a snack or simply relax while attending a monthly scheduled events.
When I travel I check local bookstores since they can tell A LOT about the city culture, idiosyncrasy and way of living.
This bookstores has other subsidiaries in Florida, but the one in Coral Gable should not be missed if you happen to be in the Sunshine State.
